    Description

Fabulous souvenir from Cody Wyoming which is the town near Yellowstone Park (East Gate) - or Buffalo Bill souvenir -
75 year anniversary belt buckle for Buffalo Bill Cody's IRMA Hotel CherryWood Bar in Cody, Wyoming.
Approximately 3.5" long and 2.5 at the center - widest part.
Heavy metal that may be brass? I don't know how to tell.
Marked Wyoming Studio Art Works on the back.
    Excellent patina from age.
The hotel has an interesting history. For over 100 years, the Irma has been a symbol of neighborliness and good cheer where people could relax and be themselves. Everyone from Colonel Cody, to princes and potentates, Indian chiefs and cowboys “came as they were” to the Irma.
The hotel was opened to the public on November 1, 1902. A grand opening celebration followed on November 18.  Buffalo Bill spent ,000 in 1902 dollars on construction costs. He named the hotel for his youngest daughter Irma, born February 9, 1886.
Daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody. The famous Irma Hotel in Cody, Wyoming is named after her.
There are rumors that her spirit appears in the Irma Hotel as a mysterious woman in white,
    roaming the hallways at night.
