    ANTIQUE WOOL BATHING SUIT
    Wonderful antique 1910-1920 black wool one-piece swimsuit with attached bathing shorts underneath the long top -- suit, when laid flat measures about 31" long from the strap edge to the skirt hem, 15-1/2" long from the armpit edge to the skirt hem, 16-1/2" wide across the chest, and 18" wide across the hips - each leg is about 9" across when laid flat.
    Bearing the two original tags marked "100% ALL WORSTED REVERE SWIM SUIT ~ REVERE KNTG. MILLS, INC.", as well as "GUARANTEED 100% ALL WOOL", condition is very nice with no tears, discoloration, fading, smells, stains or damage -- there are a few tiny moth holes that do not detract. Unusual cut-out design was intended for a young adult male to show off the form, as well as stay in place when swimming - it was referred to as the "speedsuit" . Wool is crisp and clean - no smokers or pets here. Think this would be wonderful framed - I've always displayed it hanging via a large oar threaded through the straps - so cool - fun addition to any collection and perfect for a beach house!
