CAPTURED VIET CONG FLAG FROM CAI BE IN MEKONG DELTA 1965 WITH PROVENANCE

Flag is battle worn and shows such. See pics for condition. Has hole above star. Other what appears are holes are where material is seperating. This flag is rare as most flags from Ebay are not taken from battle or have provenance such as this one. This isnt a post war made souvenir but the real thing. This is a very early year made flag 1965 or perhaps earlier captured by the 1st Battalion 11th Regiment ....and given to Major Norbert J Gannon. He was a advisor for the ARVN. He then sent it to me as promised. He was a highly decorated US Army veteran. He served three tours in Viet Nam where he was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars, and three Purple Hearts. He was a Ranger, Special Forces officer and promoted to Lt Col.
