    Description

    Fossil Sea Scorpions
    Eurypterus remipes
    Upper Silurian
    410 Million Years
    Bertie Group
    Fiddler's Green Dolomite
    Herkimer County, NY
This Eurypterus multi-plate is quite showy and is very busy indeed!
It boasts 2 primary Sea Scorpions along with sizable scattered body parts of at least 2 more specimens.
Entire matrix specimen measures approximately 7-1/4" x 5-1/2 and ranges up to 1" in thickness.
This fossil plate will display well horizontally.
    This specimen
    weighs approximately 2.42 lbs.
FYI  This plate is the other half of a specimen I sold in June.
Both halves are outstanding display specimens.
This fossil is quite durable and is safe to hold and examine.
Photos taken outdoor on a cloudy day.  Last pic taken indoors.
Photos don't quite due justice IMO.
Importantly, nicer Eurypterus fossils are increasingly difficult to come by.
